One week in...

Jason and I are spent, as was expected, but happy to be open and meeting new customers. Many have stopped by in hopes of finding lunch and we would like to announce that we'll now be serving it Tuesday thru Sunday from here on out. To begin with, the menu will include baguette sandwiches such as tarragon chicken salad and goat cheese with vegetables, as well as salads. As we progress we will offer soups, especially this fall and winter!

Tomorrow morning we will be testing out gluten free quiche. So far we have made gluten free shortbread cookies, flourless chocolate cake and we will always offer Noosa yogurt with house made granola. Slowly we will add more items to the gluten free menu and hope to be a spot where everyone can buy a fresh baked good for breakfast or lunch.

Our first week has been enjoyable and tiring. We can't say enough about the neighborhood we've found ourselves in and only hope to be a humble little store front with good food, atmosphere and company. Thanks for checking in and before too long we will link you to our real website. One thing at a time!

To eating savory and sweet,
J&J.

Opening!!!

It's finally here...we're opening! Tomorrow, Saturday the 19th, will be our first day of business. We have been through a long and grueling process to get here but are confident that it was all worth it. We literally picked up our business license today at 4:30, purchased goods to get us through the weekend and Jason started baking. He'll be back in the kitchen at 4 a.m. and the door will open at 7! While our menu will be a bit smaller this weekend, by Tuesday things should be in full swing.

Update...

Finally, an update! We have been patiently waiting to be signed off by the city in order to open for business and we want to thank those of you who have been stopping by in hopes of purchasing a few baked goods. While we can't give an exact date, we know for sure that the kitchen is stocked and ready to go when the day arrives.

The question that has been most frequently asked of us is whether or not we will be preparing gluten free goods. Jason and I do plan on developing that side of our menu in the very near future and suggestions are most welome! To start we will have flourless chocolate cake (one of my favorites), various salads & soups and a selection of yogurt, creme caramel and a few other sweet treats.

Thank you again for checking in and we will be seeing you soon,
Jason & Jeanette.
